Wednesday, April 18, 2007 : Championship secured with two games to go

Panionios wrapped up the A1 women’s basketball championship on Wednesday with a comfortable 72-56 victory over DASAL.

It is the first time in the competition’s history that a team that was promoted from the A2 division the previous season has gone on to win the title.

The team from Nea Smyrni in Athens were crowned champions with two games to spare.
