Sunday, April 29, 2007 : Maroussi scrape into playoffs
Aris managed to keep hold of the second spot in the basketball league with their away win at Patras over relegated Apollon (67-86), finishing ahead of Olympiakos, who returned with the win over PAOK from Thessaloniki (60-71) on the last round of the regular season.

The day's other big winner was Maroussi, who scraped through the top eight, thereby securing a playoff spot at the very end, thanks to their home win over bottom club Makedonikos (90-69). Maroussi took advantage of the defeat of rival Olympiada Patras in the hands of Panellinios (78-69), which helped the Kypseli team secure the fifth spot, above PAOK.

Panionios beat Egaleo away (66-76) and stayed fourth in the table, ensuring their home advantage in the
first round of the playoffs. AEK snatched the ninth spot from Olympiada through their away win in Larissa over local AEL (81-87).

League leaders Panathinaikos strolled to their 24th win in 26 matches with their 87-58 crashing of Olympia Larissa in Athens.

The pairs for the first round of the playoffs are as follows: Panathinaikos vs Maroussi, Aris vs Olympia, Olympiakos vs PAOK and Panionios vs Panellinios. The best-of-three series begin on May 10th.
