Panthrakikos announced on Tuesday they have replaced manager Albert Cartier with Pavlos Dermitzakis.
Cartier had vowed to stay on at the Komotini club which have only managed two points after 17 games in the Super League and are near certain to go down to the second division.
Dermitzakis, the former coach of Diagoras Rodou, has taken over at a Super League club for the first time in his career.
He becomes the third coach for the relegation favourites this year as it had been Romanian manager Ilie Dumitrescu who got sacked after just one match in the league.
Panthrakikos striker Bedi Buval has also left the Thrace side, to join former Panthrakikos coach Emilio Ferrera at Panionios.
