Vouliagmeni and NE Patras have qualified to the last 16 of water polo's LEN Trophy, the second-tier club competition in Europe, while Panathinaikos bowed out.

Vouliagmeni managed to finish second in their pool and snatch the ticket for the next phase thanks to their 9-7 victory over Dynamo Moscow in their last match on Sunday.

NE Patras, who hosted one of the round's qualifying groups, also finished second, scoring one win and one loss in a group of just three teams.

Panathinaikos on the other hand ended up third, as after losing to Cattaro and Brescia they beat Galatasaray 13-11 on Sunday.

Vassilis TsolakidisGreek gymnast Vassilis Tsolakidis narrowly missed out on a medal at the World Gymnastics Championship in London on Sunday.

Tsolakidis finished fourth in the parallel bars final with 15,350 points after a very good performance.

He was the only Greek to participate in a final in this championship, as Greece's biggest names such as Lefteris Kosmidis and Vlassis Maras had failed to qualify in their disciplines.

The parallel bars gold medal went to China's Wang Guanyin, who edged out fellow countryman Feng Zhe. Japan's Kazuhiko Tanaka was third.
