Trikala stayed upTrikala will continue playing in the A1 division as Egaleo return to the A2, after Wednesday; last round of games for the regular season.

Trikala lost to Aris 68-61 in Thessaloniki, but Egaleo could not take advantage on that as they were defeated at home to Panellinios 99-88 and will follow Larissa to the A2.

Olympiakos closed the regular season with one more win, the 25th out of 26 games, defeating visiting Maroussi 80-70.

PAOK and Kolossos Rhodes confirmed their entry to the top-eight and the playoffs as AEK could not beat Panathinaikos at home.

PAOK downed Larissa 65-57 to finish seventh and Kolossos lost 66-58 at Kavala but finished above AEK who suffered a 79-70 home loss to Panathinaikos.

Panionios finished sixth, beating Olympia Larissas 82-78 away.

The pairings for the playoffs are as follows: Olympiakos vs Kolossos, Panathinaikos vs PAOK, Aris vs Panionios and Maroussi vs Panellinios.

The best-of-three quarterfinal series start on Saturday with the former two pairs, with the other two following on Sunday.

 Trikala took a major step toward survival in the A1 division with their home win over Egaleo on Wednesday, while Kolossos edged closer to a spot in the playoffs.

In the midweek round of fixtures for the league, the last but one round for the regular season, Trikala scored a crucial 73-61 win over fellow strugglers Egaleo and are now level on points with the side from western Athens.

The Thessaly team are now for the first time after months outside the drop zone, that includes Egaleo and relegated Larissa; Trikala have a better head-to head record with Egaleo, who had beaten Trikala by seven points in Athens.

Kolossos Rhodes beat PAOK 70-62 at home and are close to finishing at the seventh spot which they now occupy. PAOK are ninth.

Leaders Olympiakos overcame the absence of forward Yiannis Bourousis to beat Panellinios 88-84 at Kypseli, despite trailing 42-38 at half time.

Panathinaikos, in second, had no problems at home against Enosi Kavalas, winning 96-69.

Panionios and Aris played the closest match of the day that was decided in overtime in favour of the hosts.

The regular 40 minutes found the two teams level at 77 points, but Panionios were more effective in overtime and won 89-85.

The two sides are bound to meet again in the first round of the playoffs, when Aris, in third, will face Panionios, in sixth, enjoying home advantage.

In the Larissa derby, Olympia defeated what is left of AEL 107-87 away, in what may well be the last game between the two sides before their likely merger this summer.

In the last game of the round Maroussi downed visiting AEK 86-81 and confirmed they will finish fourth in the league's regular season. In the playoffs they will face Panellinios with home advantage.
